HOW-TO: External Reviewer
OVERVIEW
An external reviewer will receive an email notification that they have been assigned a paper to review, along with system login information.
Once logged into CMT the external reviewer fills in any necessary contact information.
Their responsibility is to read the papers that were assigned, and submit reviews based on the criteria entered by the program chair (e.g., Overall Rating, Comments for the author and the program committee).
- The external reviewer receives the email from CMT. Click the link in the email.
LOGIN
- If you have not previously logged into CMT with this account, as in this case, you can retrieve your password by clicking the 'Reset Password' link.
- The ‘Reset Password’ page opens. Enter your email and captcha characters, then click ‘Reset Password.’
An email will be sent with the new password.
- Log into CMT with your email and new password.
- From the ‘Conference List’ page, click the conference name link.
- The ‘External Reviewer Console’ page opens. Click the ‘Download’ link to download the paper.
- Save the file locally.
- After reading the paper and ready to give the review, click the ‘Edit Review’ link in the ‘External Reviewer Console.’
- Enter the answers. The required fields are marked with an ‘*’ asterisk. The questions below are for illustrative purposes only.
- Click ‘Submit.’
The ‘External Reviewer Console’ page now shows the ‘View Review’ link. Once the Review deadline passes, the review will not be editable.
Note
'External Reviewers' review papers on behalf of the reviewer assigned to the paper.
Automatic emails are not sent out to 'External Reviewers' when a review is submitted by them.
Only 'Reviewers' get an automatic email when a review is submitted.
